Many alarm dealers are installing and servicing systems illegally, that is, without proper licensing. In addition, many do not even carry insurance or a bond. In California, each alarm dealer must have a State Consumer Affairs Alarm License to install/service burglar alarm systems and a State C-10 Contractors License to legally work on a fire detection system.
